To chat to random people you need a direction, not a stage. CamSurf points you at one stranger. Video is the usual door. Voice and text are on the start screen if you would rather not lead with a face. Nothing asks you to register before that first match.
You do not choose their gender or their country. Random means the queue decides.
A two-choice question beats a monologue
Random people answer faster when the question has two doors and you walk through one of them yourself.
- Window light or a lamp: which one is on your face right now? Mine is a lamp.
- Are you between tasks, or done for the day? I am between tasks.
- Should this stay small, or do you want one real topic? I can do either.
- Headphones or speakers? I am on headphones, so you can be blunt.
Stop after their first real sentence and reuse a noun they used. That is the whole craft.
When the pair is wrong
- End it. Leaving is ordinary. Politeness does not include coaching a stranger into better behaviour.
- If they were only dull, that is enough. The next match is a new draw.
- If they were pushing, report or block, then leave. Staff read those notes around the clock, and CamSurf is for adults.
- Calling back someone you already met spends coins. A fresh random pair usually opens without a charge.
Keep the first minute free of your full name and your street. A camera shows a room. Turn it so mail and a work badge stay outside the frame.

Aiming at one person
Do I fill in a profile first?
No. Registration is not in front of the first match. You set video, voice, or text and the queue takes you.
Can I ask for a woman, or for my own country?
No. The pair is random. Gender and region are not controls on the start screen.
What is usually free?
The ordinary random match is usually free to start. A direct call back to someone you already met uses coins.
What do I do when a pair goes sour?
Leave in a tap. If they crossed a line, send a report or a block as well. Staff are on those notes around the clock.
Is this a group room?
No. You are with one person. A room where everyone talks at once is a different product.
